Tsukiji Fish Market Map and Meeting Points
The market is easy to find and easy to arrive at from the wrong side. Three stations, four usable exits, eight different meeting points inside four hundred metres, and one temple that map apps like to approach from the back.
The market's shape, in one paragraph
Picture a rough rectangle four blocks wide and three deep, bounded by Tsukiji Hongan-ji on the west, Harumi-dōri on the north and the old market site towards the river on the east. One covered lane runs through the middle of it and carries most of the footfall; the rows either side are narrower and quieter. The whole thing is about a ten-minute walk end to end, and every station exit below puts you on a different corner of it.

The Tsukiji Outer Market is a public street. There is no gate, no booth, no admission fee and no queue to skip.

The temple gate problem
Six of these walks meet at Tsukiji Hongan-ji, and one operator warns about this in its own listing: map applications route you to the back of the temple rather than the front. The front gate faces the market. If you find yourself on a quiet side with no guide and no crowd, walk round the building rather than waiting.
Getting from Tsukiji to Toyosu
about 2.5 kilometres as the crow flies and no direct line between them. The usual route is the Ōedo line from Tsukijishijō to Shiodome and the Yurikamome across the bay to Shijō-mae, which takes about twenty-five minutes; a taxi is ten to fifteen. Doing them the other way round — auction first, market after — is the only order that works, because the auction is over by seven.
Where you can actually stop and eat
The market asks you not to walk while you eat, so knowing where to stand matters more here than it usually does. Most stalls have a counter or a step set aside. The third floor of the Tsukiji Uogashi building has a food court and a roof terrace and is the only place with real seating that is not a restaurant. The small restaurants between the stalls will seat you for a bowl.
